Sydney Water Head Quarters, Parramatta

Octave Acoustics was engaged to provide comprehensive acoustic consultancy services to the Sydney Water head office  renewal project. The project involved refurbishment and reconfiguration of the 14 level facility to provide a desirable, productive and attractive work environment for the post-Covid world.

Our scope included an audit of existing conditions. This involved site inspections and measurements in addition to reviewing stake-holder feedback relating to the acoustic performance of the existing offices. Key considerations in developing and coordinating the acoustic specification included:

• Optimisation of reverberation control within the new open plan spaces to support active collaboration whilst minismising noise spill to quiet work areas.
• Improvement of the sound insulation of existing meeting room and conference facilities.
• Treatments to minimise disruptions associated with noise intrusion in an otherwise low noise, chilled beam environment.
• Providing design advice, assessments and documentation to support Green Star rating considerations.
